Yes, it’s in German, but allow me to translate: “Order ist the first step towards a new chaos.” That’s what good old Albert Einstein reminds me of every day when I walk into my kitchen.

Momentarily there are projects in the works, but at the moment they remain invisible. Kind of like the Spring. In the earth, in the trees, and inside of me, there’s a lot going on — but it will take a few weeks before this activity presents itself to the outside world — as green grass, buds on the branches, and a new CD and book (in German).

So for now, I just have to keep my nose to the grindstone and trust that all will eventually work out. I know, I know: “The journey is the goal.” And when these projects are realized, then new ones will come along. It’s an ongoing process. But there are moments when I get rather impatient and want things to be done already! Especially in the midst of long, time-consuming projects. Getting started is always exciting, and the middle part is pretty good, too. But as things come to an end and aren’t quite finished — oh, that can be quite a strain on one’s nerves!

In any case, things are moving along. A month from now, everything will look different — inside and out! And then perhaps I’ll be ready to move in full swing into the next creative/chaotic phase. But for now it’s about structure, hard work and diligence.

However, all work and no play is definitely not my motto! Saturday night I went out with a girlfriend to a CD presentation from the Sofa Surfers. It was a wonderful evening. Good conversation before the concert started, and then the music, lyrics, energy — they went right through us! The visuals were great (lots of film footage from Manhattan!), but a few times I had to just close my eyes and let the sound envelop me.

And now back to daily stuff. Yesterday I saw some snowbells under a tree. And last week I finally caught a glimpse of the racoons in the animal park on the little mountain behind my apartment. Up until then they were always sleeping in their little hut, but that day they were sleeping on a shelf on the side of the pen. And one of them raised his head and peeked at me as I walked by. Yes, things are moving along, even when the pace is a bit slower than I might prefer.
